Surya Namaskar,
also known as Sun Salutation, is a sequence of yoga asanas or postures that are performed in a specific order. It is traditionally practiced at the beginning of the day to honor and connect with the energy of the Sun.
The sequence involves a combination of forward bends, backbends, and lunges performed in a fluid motion, coordinated with deep breathing. There are several variations of Surya Namaskar, but most include twelve postures performed in a continuous flow.
Benefits:
Surya Namaskar has many benefits for the body and mind. It helps improve circulation, boost metabolism, increase flexibility and strength, reduce stress and tension, and promote mental clarity and focus. It is considered a complete practice as it works on all parts of the body - muscles, joints, organs, and glands.
